I have been running (recreationally for the most part) for almost thirty years. I love to read about running and subscribe to about five running magazines. My current running goal is to run a 50 mile race before I’m 50. So, I have about 18 months in which to accomplish that feat.
I am an avid reader and read most of my books on my phone. I like to write (hence the blog) and hope the blog will encourage me to be more disciplined with my writing. I frequently buy writing software and books thinking that if I just find the right one I’ll be inspired enough to write a novel. It hasn’t worked so far but I have a great collection of How to Write a Novel in a Weekend type books.
I’m a cat person who’s partner is allergic to them so my next pet will probably be a cat-like dog (that is, small and affectionate.)
I like camping and hiking and most things outdoors. I like most sports including baseball and football (I played flag football until I decided to save my knees for a marathon.)
Things that don’t interest me: cooking (though I am reading Julia Child’s “My Life in France”), Survivor (give me “The Amazing Race” any day) and runners who think that “real” runners don’t walk during their run, listen to music during their run, smell during their run, run on the treadmill… you get the idea. Runners should just let other runners run and not worry about how they run. Let’s all just enjoy ourselves out there.
